Semiconductor nanocrystals that are synthesized using chemical means and that are in the nanometer size range show a wealth of interesting photophysical properties and interesting applications.
This talk will cover (1) aspects of their synthesis, processing, and incorporation into more complicated structures ;
(2) their photophysics, concentrating on multiexciton processes both at the single nanocrystal level and at the ensemble level,
(3) their applications as light emitters in biology and in displays.
