Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher (PhD) position in the physics department of Ecole normale supérieure (Paris), Centre national de la recherche scientifique.

Fixed term for 36 months. For non-French residents only (see precise eligibility criteria below). Applications will be reviewed at the end of 2018, for a prospective start in the summer of 2019.

You will carry out research at the cross-road between physics, immunology, computer science and applied mathematics. The project aims at understanding the dynamics and selection of immune repertoires in response to immunotherapy. It will involve data analysis and machine-learning techniques as well as physics modeling.

As part of the training activities of a EU-funded training network, you will take part in research visits and secondments to a wide range of network partners involving six Universities, six Research Institutes and four industrial companies across Europe, the USA, and Australia.

Research will be conducted at the Ecole normale supérieure (part of PSL University), the leading academic and research institution in France. It is located in the heart of the Latin quarter, among a high density of top research institutions. Your appointment will be with the Centre national de la recherche scientifique, which coordinates public research in France.

Candidate requirements

- You should, at the time of recruitment, not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than twelve months in the three years immediately prior to the date of recruitment.

- You must have had an undergraduate degree in physics or a related discipline (requiring mathematical and minimal coding skills) for less than 4 years at the time of recruitment.
