I am member of CNRS and the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique in the Departement de Physique of the Ecole Normale Supérieure.

Research Interests

My research interests are in theoretical condensed matter physics and in statistical physics. In particular, I study the physics of strong fluctuations in many-body systems, which may be due to frustration, competing degrees of freedom or quantum fluctuations.

For instance, I am interested in magnets with competing interactions (classical spin liquids, quantum and itinerant frustration); magnetoelastic effects in the pyrochlores and spinels; high-temperature superconductivity (RVB theory and gauge theories). I am also active in the field of quantum Hall physics, where I have worked on electron interactions in graphene as well as on electrons in high Landau levels (quantum Hall stripes). I have also done some work on nanophysics, namely a study of the thermodynamics and the dynamics of a lithographically produced dipolar array.
